Social support provided to individuals can include: • Visiting • Telephone and web-based support • Supporting people to access and use technology that will enhance their community participation and links • Assisting the person through accompanied shopping and bill-paying, by attending appointments • Assistance to establish and maintain community links Although this type of social support is usually provided to individuals, it can be provided to more than one person eg if the support is being provided to an older couple.
