Dementia Australia's Home and Community General Respite is facilitated through either Centre Based Respite, or one on one Flexible Respite, available Monday - Friday business hours.. Centre-Based Respite are group based activities from our facility in Newstead, or accessing activities in the local community. Group sizes are kept small to help build social connections and meaningful relationships. We offer high levels of support to help people diagnosed with dementia engaging in fun, meaningful activities, learning new skills along the way. Our staff have high levels of dementia knowledge, and group activities are driven by the interests of the group. Activities include art/craft based, or designed to stimulate thinking. We often visit local galleries, parks, museums and other community based events, even a walking group for our more active attendees. Flexible Respite - in home or community based respite at a time that suits you! Minimum 2hrs.
