The physiotherapist will assess your condition and will work with you to develop a goal based, time limited, treatment plan that takes into account your lifestyle, leisure activities, and general health. This may include advice on how you can help yourself; for example, you may be shown exercises that you can do at home. They may recommended gait aids (e.g. walking frame, walking stick) and transfer equipment.
Any condition that affects your muscles, joints, or nerves can be helped by physiotherapy. Common problems include:
- Back, neck and shoulder pain;
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and other breathing difficulties;
- Muscle weakness due to lack of activity or following recent illness/surgery.
