Proserpine Nursing Home (PNH) has 104 beds and 12 of these are dedicated to secure dementia care. The Home is established in the residential area of Proserpine and all shops and services are within 2 Km of the Home. The buildings are set around lawns and garden areas with a gazebo central to the main lifestyle activities area. The Whitsunday Wing was opened in 2000 and renovated in 2018. It is a single story double brick building connected to the Tawvale Wing and the rest of the facility via enclosed and covered walkways. The wing is located at the eastern side of the Home. All rooms have an outdoor patio with a table and two chairs and room for pot plants. Rooms are centrally reverse cycle air conditioned. Each room has modern furnishings of good quality and in good condition, electric bed and bedside table, over bed dining table, vinyl flooring, generous space for wall hangings of your choice, built in wardrobes with ample hanging and storage space, and discretely placed ensuite doors. Each room has a ceiling light in the room and ensuite. A comfortable day chair is provided and visitors chairs are available. Doorways are double leafed to enable easy access for lifters or for entire beds to be wheeled into activity or lounge areas. Rooms have large windows and plenty of natural light. Block out curtains allow the room to be darkened at the residents convenience. White cotton sheets and pillow slips are provided and thermal or cotton blankets are available for the cooler weather. There are crocheted/quilted bed covers or you can choose to bring your own quilt or bed cover. Ensuites are over 5 m2 with non slip flooring and no steps or lips. Both rooms and ensuites are equipped with emergency call bells.

The wing is located at the southern side of the Home. All rooms have individually controlled reverse cycle air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Each room has furnishings of good quality and in good condition, electric bed and bedside table, over bed dining table, vinyl flooring, generous space for wall hangings of your choice, built in wardrobes with ample hanging and storage space, and discretely placed ensuite doors. Each room has a ceiling and bed light in the room and a ceiling light and vanity light in the ensuite. A comfortable day chair is provided and visitors chairs are available. Hazelwood House is designed for residents with lower care and mobility needs and was opened in 1990. It is a single story brick building connected to the rest of the facility via enclosed and covered walkways. The wing is located at the northern side of the Home. 8 of the rooms have a front and rear entrance opening onto covered concrete floored verandas with a grassed and garden area on the northern side. The remaining 4 rooms have a front door opening onto a concrete floored veranda and a garden area. All rooms have an individually controlled box air conditioner and a ceiling fan. Each room has furnishings of good quality and in good condition, electric bed and bedside table, over bed dining table, vinyl flooring, adequate space for wall hangings of your choice, built in wardrobes with hanging and storage space, and discretely placed ensuite doors. Each room has two ceiling lights and a bed light in the room and a ceiling light in the ensuite. A comfortable day chair is provided and visitors chairs are available. Service costs

Aged care homes are required to provide care and services as outlined in the Aged Care Service List within the Aged Care Rule. Support for your daily living

Support for your daily living is paid by your basic daily fee and the government hotelling supplement. Depending on your financial circumstances, you may pay some or all of the hotelling supplement as a hotelling contribution. Estimate what you'll need to pay.
