Hesse Lodge is a boutique 24 bed residential aged care service located in Winchelsea, a country town by the Barwon River just 25 minutes from both Geelong and Colac on the Princes Highway, and 1 hour 20 minutes from Melbourne. Operated by Hesse Rural Health, Hesse Lodge is co-located with the Winchelsea Hospital. The 15 ensuited rooms are private, with carpet flooring and a single bed. A large window looks out onto beautifully kept gardens and rural spaces. Ample storage and display shelving is available. The bathroom amenities include a toilet, walk in shower, basin, cabinet and sensor lighting. Private telephones are available for each room on request, with a one off setup fee and call costs only. Free to air television points are installed, with works also underway for an 8 channel Foxtel connection. Heating and cooling is centrally regulated. The room is equipped with call and assist buttons both at the bedside and in the ensuite, providing direct communication to care staff.
