The Centre-based program is a weekly social group for people who are over 55, low physical support needs and independent in regards to personal care support requirements. Program runs each Wednesday, between the hours of 10.00 am and 3.00 pm during school terms and is supported by Gateway Community Services' door to door Community Transport. The program supports inclusiveness and offers a place to gather, stay active and enjoy other the company of others. 'Companionship with Community access' is the theme for this wonderful group. Members participate in a fun and interactive light exercise program that promotes improved balance, muscle strengthening and breathing techniques instructed by trained qualified staff. After everyone is revitalised and relaxed, members enjoy a nutritious lunch and activities before participating in a variety of different activities in the afternoon; arts and craft, guest speakers, walks, team activities, painting and outings are just some examples.
