Save this page toMy Guide

This booklet explains how older people can receive support in their home and daily life through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

Entry-level care at home

You can receive ongoing or short-term assistance through the CHSP. You can get help with housework, personal care, meals and food preparation, transport, shopping, allied health and social support. You can also apply for planned respite, giving your carer a break. The CHSP will become part of the Support at Home program no earlier than 1 July 2027. The CHSP will continue for current and new clients with low level support needs.
