Sanction or Notice to Agree applied Sanction or Notice to Agree applied In order to avoid the imposition of a revocation sanction under section 63N of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act 2018, the approved provider is required to agree to the following in writing by 5.00pm on 18 January 2021:
  • appoint, at its expense, an eligible adviser to assist them to comply with its responsibilities:
  • this appointment must be made by 5:00pm on 20 January 2021; and
  • the adviser must be appointed for a period of at least three (3) months from 20 January 2021.
  • provide, at its expense, training for its officers, employees and agents as specified below and to demonstrate that it has provided that training.
    This training should include, but not be limited to:
    • safe and effective clinical care and personal care including wound management, escalation/reporting of deteriorating care recipients, pain management, and skin/pressure area care;
 
The Provider must provide a written training plan to the Commission by 5:00pm on 27 January 2021 and written evidence of successful completion of the specified training by 20 April 2021.
 
  • participate in weekly teleconferences with the Commission to enable the Commission to monitor the provider’s progress towards returning to compliance.

An advisor was appointed by the approved provider on 20 January 2021.

Residents and relatives were notified on 18 January 2021.

Current status of service Current status of service The Department and the Aged Care Standards and the Accreditation Agency are continuing to monitor the Service. On 25 July 2008, the Agency advised that serious risk had been mitigated. The Service has appointed an Adviser. Sanction 1 lifted on 15 October 2008. Sanction 2 expired on 8 January 2009.
