The Department of Health is holding a webinar series about aged care reform in Australia. The next webinar will focus on how people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds will benefit from these reforms.
This webinar will take place on Thursday, 22 July 2021. It will feature guest panellist Mary Patetsos, Chair of the Federation of Ethnic Community Councils of Australia (FECCA).
If you are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background or delivering services to people who are, we'd love you to join us.
What will the webinar cover?
This webinar will outline how the aged care reforms will help to:
- improve access to information for older Australians – and their families and carers – who speak a language other than English
- improve access to services and advocacy for older Australians from diverse cultural backgrounds
- improve the way aged care workers provide services to people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
We will also hear from an older Australian from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, who will discuss their experience with aged care services and give their thoughts on the new reforms.
Participants will have the opportunity to share ideas on how we can best work with older Australians, their family and carers, and aged care providers and workers, to make positive changes.
