Starting from July 2024, a reformed and improved in-home aged care will replace:
- Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
- Home Care Packages Program
- Short-Term Restorative Care Programme
- Residential respite referrals.
This program is a key reform planned for the Australian aged care sector in the coming years.
Help design the Support at Home Program
The department will be consulting on aspects of the Support at Home Program design in 2022.
There are opportunities for older Australians who receive government-funded aged care, and their families and carers, to give feedback on the in-home aged care design.
If you would like to get involved in this and other aged care reform engagement activities, sign up on the Department of Health’s Ageing and Aged Care Engagement Hub.
