The week of 10-16 October is National Carers Week.
National Carers Week celebrates and recognises the 2.65 million Australians who provide care and support for a family member or friend.
Millions of reasons to care
The theme for National Carers Week 2021 is ‘Millions of Reasons to Care’, acknowledging the number of people in Australia who are carers.
National Carers Week is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the range and number of carers providing unpaid care for family or friends.
You can find out more about carers and caring at National Carer’s Week online.
Carer Gateway: Support for Carers
Carers make an enormous contribution to our community and our national economy. More importantly, they make a real difference to the person they are caring for, and it is important we support carers in their role.
The Australian Government’s Carer Gateway provides access to support services, practical advice, and free coaching. It can also connect you to a community of other carers.
For more information visit the Carer Gateway website or call 1800 422 737.
