Myra's story

A country woman at heart, Myra is glad she moved from her farm in Tamworth to a residential aged care home in Orange, after her husband died. Moving has given Myra the support she needs to lead an independent life and be closer to her large family.

Myra jokes she doesn’t need to lift a finger with clearing a table or preparing a meal. A hairdresser visits once a week and there is even an all-purpose farm, with the opportunity to care for and feed the animals, including the resident Maltese dog, named Bowie.

When her family visit, they make the most of the café while her great-grandchildren play in the surrounding gardens.

Myra is very happy with her new home and wouldn’t have it any other way.
