Mary's story

Mary has always thought she was in the right place at the right time. Having moved from New York to Australia in 1969, she and her husband Phil built a life in a community they love.

Having lost her husband and recently being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Mary wants more than ever to stay in a place that is right for her.

Mary has the right type of help for her needs. The home care package she receives helps her maintain her independence.

Mary’s package is assessed on her income and needs. Her package gives her access to community transport and social activities such as art groups.

“Anything you want to know about what is available to you is on the My Aged Care website.”

“I have the opportunity to keep on being in the right place at the right time.”
