Hello.

My name's Costa. I was born in Greece but I came to Australia as a child with my parents. I've been married for - was married for 50 years to a wonderful woman called Maria, who unfortunately passed away earlier this year.

It was very sad, not only because of how close we were, but also because she had been the homemaker and really did all the cooking and looked after the house and things like that, and left me - to be perfectly honest, she left me a little bit out of my depth.

My sons were very good. And they and their wives would come around and help me. But to be perfectly honest, they've got their own lives to live. They live a long way away. And I don't want to be a burden to anybody.

So I was speaking to my doctor about this. And he suggested that I get some home help. So I've been introduced to this wonderful woman called Sue who comes along and does a little bit of cleaning for me and some of the cooking and stuff like that.

She's a lovely young girl. She says I remind her of her grandfather. To be perfectly honest, she reminds me a little bit of one of my grandchildren as well.

She's been doing all these things. Not only is it helpful in terms of how I look after myself, but also just to have that company around has been wonderful. We have a bit of a laugh, bit of a joke.

She's actually even trying to teach me to cook some of my own food. And I'm quite proud of the way I've been going, to tell you the truth. I think it's been the most wonderful thing that's happened to me since Maria passed. And I'm just so grateful to the doctor and to her for what she's been doing.
